A Device that lets you converse silently- ALTEREGO

AlterEgo is a wearable device which is a wearable headset enabled device developed by Arnuv Kapur in MIT research laboratory. He was working on this project for very long and he demonstrated it on the stage for the first time in TED Talks 2019 in Vancouver. It focuses to provide support in communications for people with speech disorders in conditions like ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and MS (multiple sclerosis), among others. This system has the potential to seamlessly integrate humans and computers such that the computer, the AI and computing become our “second self” and help us expand our knowledge and perform beyond our abilities. The sensors of the headset are powerful enough to detect the signals the brain sends to internal speech mechanisms, namely, the tongue or larynx, when you speak to yourself. The headset allows humans to communicate with machines such as the artificial intelligence assistants, services and other people without even externally observable mov

Paper Battery

Paper Battery   What is a paper battery? A paper battery is a flexible, ultra-thin energy storage and production device formed by combining carbon nanotube with a conventional sheet of cellulose-based paper. A paper battery acts as both a high energy battery and super capacitor, combining two components that are separate in traditional electronics and capable of providing long term steady voltage. The paper batteries could meet the energy demand of next generation gadgets. Recently developed paper battery combine the Li-ion based chemicals to make a combination of Li-ion and paper battery. They have a wide range of operating temperature. Specialized paper batteries are expected to act as power sources for any of the devices implanted in humans and animals.  Advantages: Their ability to use electrolytes in blood make them potentially useful for medical devices such as pacemakers. Paper batteries have long lasting time. It can act in two ways a bat

PEGASUS

PEGASUS Developed by Israeli Cyber Warfare vendor NSO groups, Pegasus spyware was designed to be installed on phones without actually being in knowledge of target. Pegasus attack has been the most sophisticated smartphone attack till date in cyber-attacks history. Recently the spyware has targeted 1400 civil right activists, lawyers and journalists across the globe including in India. Pegasus at a time can attack 50 phones in just one go. It is used by many governments to combat in terror related activities. HOW IT WORKS? Pegasus used or rather reverse engineered the messaging app Whatsapp and developed a program that copied Whatsapp network traffic to target devices. Zero Day Attacks The spyware exploit vulnerable software. They require no interactions from users instead they attack the target in form of calling from unknown numbers and the no. disappeared from the call logs, leaving no records of missed calls. Spear Phishing Attacks Attackers create tailo
