CovidDeep, A Rapid Screening App

NeuTigers Launches CovidDeep, A Rapid Screening App Using Wearable Sensor Data to Detect COVID-19 Infection Using edge AI and wearable biosensors, an app detects COVID within two minutes—even in asymptomatic patients.   CovidDeep  an app from Brooklyn-based  NeuTigers  is powered by  deep neural networks  that identify patterns within sensor readings taken by wearable devices. It was developed at an Italian hospital during some of the worst days of the pandemic. CovidDeep  provides rapid, real-time screening - so individuals can self-quarantine sooner, get treatment faster, and the world can get back to work and restart the economy.  Now, it is launched for businesses who want to rapidly screen residents or employees, such as healthcare workers. In early March 2020, the NeuTigers team began adapting their StarDeep health platform (an AI system under development to detect diabetes) to screen for COVID-19. The platform relies on ultra-efficient AI algorithms that run directly o

Carbon Capture Technology

" Am donating $100M towards a prize for best carbon capture technology" said Elon Musk, the billionaire tech entrepreneur, in one of his recent tweets. Carbon capture and storage (CSS) is the process of capturing and storing waste carbon dioxide before it is emitted into the atmosphere. The technology can capture up to 90% of the carbon dioxide released by burning fossil fuels and from emissions from vehicles in electricity generation and industrial processes. The technology also reduces pollutants like sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, and particulates.  The first carbon capture plant was proposed in 1938, and the first large-scale project to inject CO 2 into the ground, launched in the Sharon Ridge oilfield in Texas in 1972. There have been significant developments in the next few years. Around 24 years later, Norway launched the world’s first integrated carbon capture and storage project, known as Sleipner, in the North Sea. The technology is still under dev
