Brain Machine Interfece

Brain-Computer Interface (BCI)  are devices that enable its users to interact with computers by mean of brain-activity only, this activity being generally measured by ElectroEncephaloGraphy (EEG).Electroencephalography (EEG) is a physiological method of choice to record the electrical activity generated by the brain via electrodes placed on the scalp surface.Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measures brain activity by detecting changes associated with blood flow. The reason a BCI works at all is because of the way our brains function. Our brains are filled with neurons, individual nerve cells connected to one another by dendrites and axons. Every time we think, move, feel or remember something, our neurons are at work. That work is carried out by small electric signals that zip from neuron to neuron as fast as 250 mph . The signals are generated by differences in electric potential carried by ions on the membrane of each neuron.Although the paths the signals take ar

Amazon NHS Association

Amazon NHS Association An association for elderly people, blind people and other patients who cannot easily search for health advice on the internet to access the information through the AI-powered voice assistant Alexa.  Recently, Matt Hancock announced a new collaboration between the NHS and Amazon, which paired expert medical advice by NHS with amazon’s market-leading Alexa device. People who need medical information can get advice directly from NHS which is more accurate, reliable and safe. Privacy campaigners have expressed their concern for the data, they said that the data could be stored and used to sell targeted ads aimed at customers. Silkie Carlo, director of Big Brother Watch, said: “Amazon’s Alexa records what people say, stores recordings in data centres we know nothing about and exploits our data for profit. This scheme will likely result in people being profiled and targeted by data brokers based on their deeply personal health concerns”.  Amaz

Impact of Social Media on Business

Watch out for that bird! Imagine you are skydiving, you are visiting one of the most beautiful countries in the world and you want to share that experience with your loved ones and friends. Why not send a postcard? Oh wait, you’re already back from the trip by the time that postcard has reached, or it got lost in the mail. If only there was an alternative. This isn’t 1990. Cyborgs

WILL HUMANS BECOME CYBORGS IN FUTURE? Cyborgs are amongst us already. Not those that exist in our imaginations or movies, but a more efficient variety that is different from the non-modified humans. As part of the growing ‘transhumanist’ movement, people have also implanted sensors into their bodies in order to push the limits of human experience. As new technologies such as artificial intelligence and 3D printing bring ever more possibilities, are we about to lose the bound ary between human and machine? WHAT EXACTLY IS A CYBORG? The word cyborg is an abbreviated version of ‘cybernetic organism’.  A cyborg is a living being having both cellular and mechanical/electrical parts that either repair or improve the organism’s functioning.  Robots and droids do not fall into this category. People with the most common technological implants, such as prosthetic limbs, pacemakers, and cochlear implants, can also be considered cyborgs. People who receive organ implants develope
